  • recognize practical strategies to increase patient safety, avoid litigation, and enhance defensibility in the event of a lawsuit;

  • discuss the importance of practice protocols for tracking and review of diagnostic test results;

  • identify tactics to avoid medication errors; and

  • explain how complete medical records and good documentation techniques can help prevent medical liability claims.
