Robert Donohoe Named President and CEO of Texas Medical Liability Trust

The Board of Trustees of Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT) announced today that Robert “Bob” Donohoe will become TMLT’s new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective July 1, 2014. Donohoe is currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TMLT.

TMLT’s Board Chair Dr. Arthur Evans said, “The Board of Trustees is pleased that Bob has accepted this leadership role. With Bob leading the way, we will vigorously continue in our direction toward superior, comprehensive protection for our physician owners and providing them with the services they need in these times of increasing regulation and change.”

Donohoe has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined TMLT in 2012. Prior to joining TMLT, Donohoe was Managing Director with Aon Benfield. For more than 7 years, Donohoe worked as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at John B. Collins Associates, a leading global reinsurance intermediary, and served on the Board of Directors for Collins, Collins UK, and Collins Bermuda.

Donohoe replaces Charles R. “Chip” Ott Jr. who is stepping down from his role as CEO effective June 30, 2014. Ott said, “I’ve known and trusted Bob for many years. As COO, he has served TMLT’s physician owners, the Board, and TMLT’s valued employees with single-minded focus on TMLT’s operational success now and for the future. He will be a strong CEO and lead TMLT to even greater success.”
