Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT) announces that Charles R. “Chip” Ott Jr. is stepping down from his role as TMLT’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective June 30 to dedicate more time to his family. Under Ott’s leadership, TMLT has demonstrated substantial growth as an innovative, client-focused provider of medical liability insurance for Texas healthcare professionals.
“Working with TMLT’s expert staff and Board of Directors to solidify TMLT as the premier medical liability carrier in Texas and beyond has been one of the true highlights of my career,” said Ott. “I am confident that the future achievements of TMLT, in both the short and long term, promise to take this company to even greater heights. I wish TMLT every possible success as it continues to offer the highest quality protection and services for physicians and healthcare providers in Texas and beyond.”
Ott joined TMLT in July 2011 after serving as Executive Vice President of Guy Carpenter and Company, LLC, a global reinsurance broker. Prior to joining Guy Carpenter via the acquisition of Collins Associates, Ott served as co-head of the sales and service functions. He was a member of the executive management team, the Board of Directors, and the Collins UK Board of Directors.
TMLT’s Chairman of the Board Dr. Arthur Evans said, “Under Chip’s leadership, TMLT has grown even stronger by creating more ways to protect Texas doctors. TMLT’s leadership is committed to moving its current initiatives forward to ensure success and growth for years to come.”
